The parcel

What arrives at your door. Brown card, no plastic, a folded garment, a card, nothing else.

What arrives is a brown card box, sealed with paper tape. Inside, the garment, folded, wrapped in a single sheet of unbleached tissue. One small printed card. That is everything in the parcel.

We thought about the parcel for a long time. Most clothing brands treat the unboxing as a marketing moment — layered tissue, satin ribbon, foil stickers, branded inserts, a poly bag the customer has to throw out, a sample sachet of something they did not order. We decided we are not interested in any of that.

What's in the parcel

A brown corrugated card box, recycled, recyclable. Sealed with paper tape, no plastic.

Inside, the garment, folded along its construction lines, wrapped once in a single sheet of unbleached recycled tissue. The tissue holds the fold during transit. After the parcel is opened, it goes in the recycling.

One card, parchment, printed in two colours — the WRTH wordmark in ember on one side, the size and care instructions on the other. The card is the size of a small index card. It is the only printed material in the parcel.

That is the entire contents.

What is not in the parcel

No poly bag inside the box. No bubble wrap. No plastic packing peanuts. No swing tag hanging on a plastic loop. No promotional leaflet for the next drop. No discount code card. No sample sachet of detergent or fragrance. No sticker. No "thank you for your order" note signed in fake handwriting. No QR code asking you to leave a review.

The brand is in the garment. The brand is in the journal. The brand is not in the parcel.

Why we made it this way

Two reasons. The first is environmental: every piece of plastic in fashion packaging eventually ends up in landfill or in the sea. The brand cannot fix that problem alone, but the brand can refuse to contribute to it.

The second is philosophical: a parcel that asks the customer to perform a ritual ("open carefully, peel back the tissue, admire the brand colour, remove the swing tag") is a parcel that thinks the customer's attention belongs to the brand. Our customer's attention belongs to them. We are giving them a garment. The garment is the point.

What this means in practice

The parcel costs us less to put together than a typical fashion package. We pass the saving on by not raising the price of the garment to fund a more elaborate one. The brown box is the same brown box that will arrive at someone else's door from a hardware shop or a wine merchant. There is no logo on the outside.

When the parcel arrives, you will know it is from us because you ordered from us, and the box has a small WRTH stamp on the lid. The stamp is the only mark on the outside.

The garment is the gift. The box is just the way it got to you.
