Walking back from the shop

Walking back from the shop in the rain, hood up, hands in pockets. Nothing else asked of you.

Walking back from the shop in the rain, hood up, hands in pockets. Nothing else asked of you.

A small daily walk, in October, in the dark by half past four, with one bag in each hand or none at all. The shop was for milk. The pavement is slick. There is nobody else on it. The hood you're wearing is heavy enough that you can hear the rain on it and not feel it.

These are the moments the brand was built for. Not the special occasions. Not the photographs. The ordinary fifteen-minute walk that happens five times a week from October to March, that nobody else will ever see, that is half the reason any of us have a wardrobe at all.

A coat for that walk. A hood for that walk. A pair of pockets for that walk.
